অল্প সময়ের মধ্যেই সে গভীর ঘুমে তলিয়ে গেল। কিন্তু কচ্ছপ থামেনি। সে ধীরে ধীরে হাঁটতে থাকল। কিছুক্ষণ পরে সে ঘুমন্ত খরগোশকে অতিক্রম করে গেল। শেষ পর্যন্ত কচ্ছপ শেষ রেখা পার করে দৌড়ে জয় লাভ করল। কয়েক ঘণ্টা পরে খরগোশ জেগে উঠল এবং আবার দৌড়াতে শুরু করল। কিন্তু তখন অনেক দেরি হয়ে গিয়েছিল।
