You must have heard the name of Bayazid Bostami. He was famous for his devotion to his mother. One night, Bayazid’s mother was sleeping. Suddenly, she woke up and told her son to give her a glass of water. Bayazid found no water anywhere in the house.

So he went out to fetch water from a distant fountain. He came back with water and found his mother asleep. He did not disturb his mother. He stood still beside his mother’s bed with a glass of water in his hand. The night was over.

Bayazid’s mother woke up. She was surprised to see her son standing beside her bed. After a while, she could understand the fact. Then she prayed to Allah for his son from her heart.

Moral: We should always love, respect, and care for our parents.

সে পানি নিয়ে ফিরে আসল এবং তার মাকে আবার ঘুমিয়ে পড়তে দেখল। সে তার মায়ের অসুবিধা করল না। সে তার হাতে একগ্লাস পানি নিয়ে মায়ের বিছানার পাশে নিরবে দাঁড়িয়ে রইল। রাত কেটে গেল। বায়েজিদের মা জেগে উঠলেন। তিনি তাঁর বিছানার পাশে তাঁর ছেলেকে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে দেখে বিস্মিত হলেন। কিছুক্ষণ পর তিনি বিষয়টা বুঝতে পারলন। তখন তিনি ছেলের জন্য আল্লাহর কাছে হৃদয় থেকে প্রার্থনা করলেন।

Without disturbing anyone, Bayazid quietly took a jar and went out in search of water. He walked a long distance to find a well and fetched water from it. When he returned home, he saw that his mother was still sleeping. He didn’t want to wake her up.
