There lived a farmer in a village. He had a wonderful goose. The goose laid a gold egg every day. The farmer sold the egg and began to improve his poor condition. But the farmer was very greedy. He thought that there were many eggs in the belly of the goose.

He wanted to have all the eggs at a time and become rich overnight. One day, he hit upon a plan that he would kill the goose and get all the eggs of gold from its belly. He told his wife about his plan. His wife was wise and not greedy.
